Plastic properties of common rubber

1. Natural rubber
Natural rubber is relatively easy to obtain plasticity. Constant viscosity and low viscosity standard maleic rubber has low initial viscosity and generally does not need to be plasticated. If the Mooney viscosity of other types of standard adhesives exceeds 60, they still need to be molded. When using an internal mixer for molding, the time is approximately 3-5 minutes when the temperature reaches above 120 ℃. When adding plasticizers or plasticizers, it can significantly shorten the plasticizing time and improve the plasticizing effect.
2. Styrene-butadiene
Generally speaking, the Mooney viscosity of Styrene-butadiene is mostly between 35-60. Therefore, Styrene-butadiene also needs no plasticizing. But in fact, after plasticizing, the dispersibility of the compounding agent can be improved, which helps to improve product quality. Especially for sponge rubber products, Styrene-butadiene is easy to foam after plasticating, and the bubble size is uniform.
3. Polybutadiene
Polybutadiene has cold flow property and is not easy to improve the plasticizing effect. At present, the Mooney viscosity of commonly used Polybutadiene has been controlled in an appropriate range during polymerization, so it can be directly mixed without plasticizing.
4. Neoprene
Neoprene generally does not need to be plasticized, but because of its high toughness, it is helpful for operation. The thin pass temperature is generally 30 ℃ -40 ℃, which is easy to stick to the roll if it is too high.
5. Ethylene propylene rubber
Due to the saturated structure of the main chain of Ethylene propylene rubber, it is difficult to cause molecular cracking by plasticating. Therefore, it is advisable to synthesize it to have a suitable Mooney viscosity without the need for molding.
6. Butyl rubber
Butyl rubber has stable and soft chemical structure, small molecular weight and large fluidity, so the mechanical plasticizing effect is not great. Butyl rubber with lower Mooney viscosity can be directly mixed without plasticizing.
7. Nitrile rubber
Nitrile rubber has small plasticity, high toughness and large heat generation during plasticating. Therefore, low temperature, low capacity and segmented plasticating are usually used in the open mill to achieve good results. Nitrile rubber should not be plasticated in internal mixer. As the soft Nitrile rubber has a certain plasticity, it can be directly mixed without plastic refining.
